signagelive® features
signagelive® is a web-based 'software as a service' (SaaS) Digital Signage Platform enabling remote update and monitoring of attached signagelive® devices over a standard Internet connection including unique Vodafone GPRS/3G/HSDPA data bundles for Mobile update.
The signagelive® client is available in both Windows CE 5.0/6.0 and XP/Embedded XP variants and has been developed to auto-configure and attach to signagelive® with zero on-site configuration. In addition to software only, Remote Media provide a range of software/hardware combined devices from the signagelive® player X and HD units, 4" shelf-edge with Power over Ethernet, through to the latest 70" Digital 6-Sheet units.
On logging-in to signagelive® from a standard Internet Browser, you will be presented with the following modules:
Media Asset Management - enabling upload,
tagging, search and preview of media assets for use on your
network. These include:
- Video (MPEG 1/2/3/4, DIVX 1/2/3/5, AVI, H263, WMV, WMVHD, MOV, FLV, 3GP)
- Flash (SWF)
- Web Pages (both local and web-based URL's)
- Still Images (GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP)
- Video Streaming (Unicast, Multicast, H.264, MMS, VOD, IPv4, IPv6)
- RSS 2.0 and Atom Feeds (extended RSS to include image separators between feed items and full visual style control)
- Live TV (DVB-T, Satellite)
Layout Controller - enables the user to
'drag and drop' design and save multi-zone layouts based on a
comprehensive range of landscape and portrait resolutions. The
layouts can contain zones that are populated by playlists
created and scheduled from the media listed above or from a
range of signagelive® Widgets.
signagelive® Widgets are a toolbox of components that can be utilised on screen including standard Widgets enabling background images to be loaded, static text with transparency to be added and formatted, static images such as logos and digital/analogue clocks. A range of enhanced Widgets are also available that include features like the Weather Widget that can be placed on the layout and will display an animation and weather details pulled from a live weather feed based on the location of the client device being updated.
A full gallery of layout templates are provided for use and modification by customers.
Playlist Creator - create playlists of
layouts based on date/time and subsequent playlists of media
content that can be date and time scheduled for inclusion in a
layout zone or full-screen as required by the customer. The playlist creator allows media preview and the entire
signagelive® platform incorporates editorial control based on
user privileges so that media has to be approved before it can
be added to a playlist etc.
In addition to manual creation of playlists, the flexible architecture nature of signagelive® enables full integration with third party platform such as media planning and media asset systems allowing for automated creation and upload of media and playlists.
Deployment - each device connected to
signagelive® can be grouped as required by a customer i.e.. Tesco's, Extra, Kiosk or Sainsbury's, Metro, Tills. Having
defined the grouping attributes a profile of selected group
devices can be saved for ease recall e.g. Tescos_Extra (send the
following playlists/media to all devices that are found in the
Tesco and Extra Groups). Each device can be configured to update
based on frequency (e.g. every minute to once a day) or a set
time. In addition, a mortality check-in interval can be
established so that devices can connect in to let the system
know that it is fully operational and post it's log files back
to the server for live graphical reporting across the entire
network.
Reporting - over 300 items of data are
collected for every device or client connected to signagelive® and
this information is used to generate reports and
to enable users to mine the data for specific information. A
live network status tool provides a graphical dashboard that
tells the user how many devices are in service, how many have
current content, future content and have checked in. Each graph
is updated in real-time and allows the user to drill down by exception (what's
not working as it should) to see the status of an individual
device including full access to system generated and
support-desk generated messages.
The three levels of log-files captured by signagelive® are;
- system - operational status, (disk space, operating systes version etc.),
- transmission (what was sent where and did it get there as deployed)
- compliance (individual date/time stamping of the playback of every media asset with a unique tracking code to tie the media file back to the playlist).
A full system audit tracks every user interaction with signagelive® so that total traceability is possible.
