Media Support
Video - Video support differs dependant on software codecs installed on the pc based versions and is limited by the firmware in SMIL players
Still Image - Plays a range of still image formats such as jpg, bmp and png files on pc versions and is limited to image file types supported by firmware on virtual players
Flash - Playback of assets created in Adobe Flash and Is dependant on having a up to date flash player installed on your pc
Web Page - The ability to show either external or locally stored webpage as part of a playlist
Streamed Video - The ability to include a video being streamed in externally to be displayed
Streamed Audio - The ability to include audio being streamed in externally to be played back
Audio - The ability to playback mp3 files
Media RSS - The ability to show an intranet held video or still media asset as part of a playlist via syndication. You can only schedule Media RSS to the virtual player if the XML is accessible on the internet. The assets themselves can be intranet access only.
TV Overlay - The ability to show an externally held video or still media asset as part of a playlist via syndication
Samsung picture in picture - The ability to show video from another source such as a TV tuner or external video input
Interrupt - A facility to trigger a change in layout on a key press
RSS Ticker - Ticker presentation of an external syndicated text source
Playlist triggered Interrupt - A change of to a preconfigured playlist triggered at a point within the master playlist
Scheduling
Store and forward schedule - Allows schedules to be sent in advance and for change of content whilst signagelive is playing back media
Just in time schedule - Only changes content at the point new content is available, in the case of desktop and screensaver versions content will not change whilst playing
Auto schedule - make a change to an existing playlist and all players running the playlist will automatically update.
Download confirmation - screensaver versions content will not change whilst playing
Content check confirmation - Posts a confirmation to the server that the device has communicated and asked for new content
Health check confirmation - Post a confirmation to the server that the device is still communicating
Recurrence - Allows playlists to be set to play on certain days or at certain times of the day or a combination of both
Asset level recurrence - Allows specific assets within a playlist to be played on certain days or at certain times of the day or a combinations of both
Time to life and expiry - Allows assets to have a valid lifetime by setting at which point in time it starts to play and at which point it stops
Impression logging - Returns summary information of the number of times an asset has been played back
Nested playlist - enables a playlist to be incorporated within another with configuration options that includes the ability to randomize media playback.
Local playlist - assign local users the ability to manage their own playlist of content for use in a dedicated zone or embedded in a master playlist.

Full screen playback - Plays all media within a single playlist back in full screen
Split screen layout - Allows a number of playlist to coexist on the screen at once by configuring a layout for them
